The Cranford Fund for Educational Excellence is a non-profit, community-based
philanthropic foundation. Its mission is to foster academic excellence, promote
innovation, and enhance the vitality of the Cranford Public Schools by generating
additional resources through community involvement.
The goals of the Fund are:
- to foster academic excellence by creating an environment that nutures a rich variety of
teaching and learning experiences.
- to encourage, seek, and accept contributions of funds, services and other resources for
the benefit of the Cranford Public Schools.
- to serve as a catalyst to support and enhance school improvement that will heighten
learning opportunities for children.
- to be a vehicle that will assist in the preparation of Cranford's youth to compete and
prosper in an increasingly complex and competitive world.
- to create many avenues for community members to participate as stakeholders, working
together to strengthen the public schools which in turn strengthen our community.
Funds raised by CFEE are used to award grants to Cranford educators in support of
innovative ideas that are outside the scope of the regular school budget. Since 1999, CFEE
has provided over $20,000 in supplemental funding for educational initiatives in Cranford
schools.
CFEE funding comes from contributions made by parents, community members, local
businesses, corporations, and foundations. Yearly fundraising events include a tennis
tournament and a wine tasting. CFEE has also received funding from the Cranford Junior
Womens Charity Ball, a Cranford Rotary Club golf tournament, and a Cranford
Repertory Theatre production.
The CFEE Board of Directors meets monthly to administer the activities of CFEE.
