service to our school, to our school
district and to our community.

On September 11, one of the most
horrific acts of terrorism was committed. It took down most
of the World Trade Center and a portion of the Pentagon,
killing thousands of American citizens. Our sympathy is with the
victims and their families.
Head track and cross-country coach, Mr. Ray White, is honored!!
September 15 - Before the start of the football game between Cranford and Scotch Plains, Mr. Ray White was honored as the
Cranford Board of Education unveiled the sign officially designating the new track as the "Ray White" track. During Mr.
White's 35 year tenure as Cranford High's head track and cross-country coach, he has earned an amazing reputation. He has
collected 56 conference, county, and state championships, becoming a living legend in Cougar sports. Among his tributes, in
1999, Mr.White was the recipient of the NJ State Coach of the Year award. Although the record shows that his teams have run
away with success, for the approximately 6,500 student athletes who have run for Coach White, he has been much more than
just a successful coach; he has been their adviser, their advocate and their champion. Demanding athletic and academic
excellence from his runners, Coach White leaves a lasting impact on every student he coaches.
