BETA Advisor- Ms. Burd
The Beta Club is a nationally recognized organization that promotes character, leadership, and service. Cranford High School will be starting a chapter of the Beta Club for the 2005-06 school year. Students who are members of Beta will have various opportunities to enhance their service learning, and leadership skills.
Friendship Club Ms. White
The Friendship Club, an outgrowth
of the Peer Development Program, is designed to aid all new upperclassmen
feel more at ease in a new high school. Peer facilitators are members
of the club which attempts to help these new students meet Cranford High
School students, go to sporting events, and become more familiar with clubs,
activities, and the top.
Heart to Heart Club Advisor - Ms. McMahon
Heart to Heart Club is a socially active organization that supports the assistance of all disabled and/or physically challenged individuals. Through service and community projects and social events, the club promotes the tolerance of physically and mentally challenged individuals. Heart to Heart club is open to all students and meets every other Tuesday morning at 7:45 in L421.
Rotary Interact
Advisor- Ms. Ulaky
Interact is a community service club sponsored
by the local Rotary Club. We meet monthly and offer opportunities
to participate in activities such as: walkathons, beach clean-up, Community
Food Bank and Special Olympics. Rotary meets Wednesday mornings at 7:30. New members are welcome.
Share the Dream
Advisor- Ms. Campbell
A grant funded club, the "Share the Dream Project" seeks to give minority students an avenue to explore and celebrate their culture heritage and contribute to society excellence and achievement.
Drug-Free Youth
Advisor- Mr. Segear
Drug-Free Youth is
a club at Cranford High School that is made up of students who want to
make an open commitment to being drug-free and want to help others make
the drug-free choice. The club is "student run" and has a "governing board" along with committees involved with activities, fund raising, membership, publicity, and newsletter. The club has a clear "no use" message and works to:
- Support each member in staying drug-free
- Help other students who might have a problem staying drug free
- Educate members and others about drugs
- Help each member to experience the fullness and freedom of a truly drug-free lifestyle.
Diversity Club Advisor- Ms. Savino
Cranford High School values the diversity that enriches our world through customs, traditions and perspectives of people of different cultures, religions, gender, and socioeconomic groups. The Diversity Club is an informal forum through which students celebrate these values by sharing stories, facts, family traditions, traditional dress, food, and ethnic music and dance. The Diversity Club aims to promote a safe environment for students by making them aware of the diversity of the school population. Different cultures, life styles, and beliefs will be researched by the members and then promoted throughout the building to spread awareness.
Gay-Straight Alliance
Advisor- Ms. Salerno
The Gay-Straight Alliance organization promotes alternative lifestyles through projects and social events. Activities are held in and/or out of school, and include the National Day of Silence. GSA meets twice a month after school. New members are welcome.
Peer Leadership
Advisor- Ms. White & Mr. Huff
First and second year Peer facilitators offer programs for elementary students as well as freshmen at CHS. In addition, Peer facilitators act as ambassadors in the building and promote character and service.
Rebel Club
Advisor- Ms. Jablonski
Club members seek to educate the community on the hazards of smoking through creative projects and community activities. Rebel Club helps to keep the community updated, educated, and informed about smoking.
