Student Politics

Model United Nations
Advisors- Mr. Fuhro & Mr. Mamrak

Organized to increase student awareness of international concerns and issues, this club offers unusual opportunities for students to do research in international areas and organize this information into a written proposal.  A major three-day seminar is held in January so that these students can interact with students from other high schools and debate these proposals.

Model Youth and Government
Advisor- Ms. Calamari

Members create and draft bills to be debated and passed at the annual conference at the State House in Trenton. Model Youth and Government provides the knowledge, resources, and experience of the nation's government. Youth and Government meets Thursdays at 7pm and is only for the second semester. Only a certain amount of students may enter the club and they are chosen through tryouts in which the student will be given a bill and must give a argument for or against it.

Student Council
Advisors- Ms. Fazio & Mr. Vito

The Student Council is a democratically organized governing body, composed of Senators elected from the high school students, democratically elected officers, and the General Assembly, or non-elected members.  The Student Council's activities serve to provide development of citizenship, leadership, and fellowship experiences.  Through its activities the Student Council endeavors to improve school spirit; provide a close relationship between the students, teachers and administrators; satisfy the needs of the students, and generally contribute to the welfare of the school.
