Q: Age when you entered the service?
A: I entered the war at age 23.

Q: What part of the service?
A: The part of the service that I entered was the Army Signal Core.

Q: When?
A: The date that I entered was September 9, 1941.

Q: Were you in the infantry/ tanks/navy ships/airplanes?
A: SI dealt with the communications.

Q: Did you meet your wife/girlfriend before of after the war?
A: I met my wife after the war.

Q: How did you meet?
A: I met her through a friend of a girl that I had dated.

Q: Why did you enter the service?
A: I was drafted into the service.

Q: Feelings of patriotism/pride?
A: I wanted to be apart of it.

Q: How did family members feel when you were drafted?
A: They were all frightened.


Q: How much did you know about the war before you entered?
A: I knew that there was a war going on in Europe.

Q: Where did you receive your training?
A: I received my training in Maken, Georgia and I trained for nine weeks until Pearl Harbor occurred.

Q: What theatre did you serve in?
A: I served in Rocco, Tunisia, Algeria, France, Sisley, Italy, Germany, and Austria. Then I was transferred to another signal core to operate radar.

Q: For how long?
A: I served for 34 months.
