Scholarship opportunities arrive every day! Students are urged to avail themselves of these opportunities early in the school year. Scholarship information will be posted in senior homerooms, posted on the scholarship bulletin board located in the Guidance Showcase, announced during homeroom announcements, presented in this newsletter, and on our website. A file cabinet had been established for easy access to scholarship opportunities. It is located in the Guidance Office. Be sure to follow through if a scholarship applies to you!

Alvernia University
Students must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate day students at Alvernia University working towards their first bachelor's degree to be eligible. No need to apply for the scholarships. It will be applied after acceptance to the college.

Merit Scholarships:
  • Presidential Scholarship
  • $12,000 > 3.5 GPA and > 1130 SAT/25 ACT
  • Trustee's Scholarship
  • $10,000 > 3.2 GPA and > 1050 SAT/23 ACT
  • Veronica Founder's Scholarship
  • $8,000 > 3.0 GPA and > 980 SAT/21 ACT

    Co-operative Education Scholarship
    For Drexel, Johnson & Wales, Pace, Rochester, Cincinnati, Wentworth, and Toledo. GPA of 3.5 and an essay. Visit www.co-op.edu for more information.

    Fashion Institute of Technology
    Has Presidential Scholars Scholarship--based on academics, GPA, and SAT. Three other available scholarships are the Jodi Tilton Study Abroad, the Jones Apparel and Marketing Award, and the Henry Wolf Study Award.

    Felician College
    The Felician College Food Council Scholarship offers a full tuition for a food industry employee or member of the food industry family. Application is available in guidance.

    Marist College
    12 full tuition and board scholarships for Computer Science and Information Technology majors. Need considered. Application found at online application site. Check box labeled "National Science Foundation Scholarship Program".
    Deadline 2/15/10

    New Jersey City University Scholarships
    GPA: 3.8 Full scholarship, GPA: 3.5 minimum of $4000 per year. Go to www.njcu.edu for various scholarships.

    Ramapo College of New Jersey
    Each year the Russell Berrie Foundation grants up to nineteen recognition awards to "unsung heroes" in New Jersey who have made an uncommon contribution to the common good. The three major annual awards are up to $50,000, $35,000, and $25,000 plus many runner-up awards of $2,500 each.

    Towson University
    Full scholarships for math and science. The Jess Fisher scholarships. Admission to honors college required. Apply to www.towson.edu/fisherscholarships

    US Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award Program
    This is a scholarship opportunity to reward your most deserving student for oustanding academic and athletic achievements.

    Washington College
    Merit based scholarship for National Honors Society members. Admitted to Washington College with $12,500 per year.
