Cranford High School is a comprehensive high school operating under a single curriculum plan and granting the same type of diploma to all students. The selection of courses is diverse enough to allow students to plan their programs to meet a variety of individual needs and interests. The student preparing for college will find not only the standard required courses for college admission but also advanced courses to better prepare himself or herself for the chosen field of study in college. Students may also prepare for entrance into specialized schools such as art, business, music, nursing, technical or trade. In many instances they may test their interest by taking an introductory course. The opportunity to attend Union County Vocational-Technical School as a shared-time student is also available for any student who is interested in vocational training in one of their programs.
Students will also find more than adequate preparation for employment with little or no further training after high school. Each student must carefully examine the various course offerings and then select those subjects that seem to best meet his or her own particular interest and future goals. The student's guidance counselor is always vailable to help the student select courses for the coming year, and parents are encouraged to be present for the scheduling conference if at all possible.
Cranford High School courses are open to all students regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sex, ancestry, national origin, social or economic status or post secondary school plans. The only requirement for admission to a course is to meet any prescribed prerequisite.
