Al Gore's Environmental Awareness Campaign
Al Gore, Oscar winner and Nobel Prize winner, launched a new campaign on Monday, March 31st. It is known as the "we" campaign and is founded by the Alliance for Climate Protection, an amalgamation of political, marketing and environmental organizations. They launched a national television ad called "Anthem", which is just the beginning of a three-year, $300 million effort to lobby the world to take action against the climate change.
On March 25th the Blue Green Alliance, a partnership between the United Steelworkers and Sierra Club joined the alliance. It will be the first of its kind to build a constituency for global warming solutions, which will highlight job opportunities. These jobs will be in renewable energy, clean technology and green manufacturing. "The United States is approaching an historic moment when thinking green will soon become our new 'common sense'- and the norm in the business world," says David Foster, the Executive Director of the Blue Green Alliance.
