CRANFORD HIGH SCHOOL
Senior Service Learning Project 2006-2007


ELIGIBILITY:

a. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 higher calculated after the second marking period of senior year. Any student eligible at this point must maintain a marking period average of 3.0 or higher in the 3rd and 4th marking period.
b. Positive behavioral record is related to disciplinary referrals and attendance. Any student who has had an out of school suspension during senior year will not be eligible.
c. Students who have exceeded 10 absences by the first day of the program will be ineligible.
d. Any exceptions to the eligibility requirements will be subject to the discretion of the principal.


RANGE OF PROJECTS:

Nursing homes, police departments, libraries, elementary/middle schools, recreation department, parks department, ambulance corps are a few project ideas. Work sites are limited to those that service the Cranford district.


FINAL EVALUATIONS:

a. The supervisor/host agency will evaluate the student's performance on an evaluation form provided for this purpose. These evaluations will be kept on file and made available to high school staff members for their review.
b. The participating students will evaluate their experience with a final written paper.
c. Additionally, a report will be submitted to the high school principal assessing the 2006 Senior Service Project experience.
