FALL BALL II PUSHES MONEY

RAISED FOR BILOXI TOWARD $20,000

November 2006

On November 4, 2006, Cranford High School sponsored its latest fund raiser for Biloxi High School, called "Fall Ball II." The dance, for CHS juniors and seniors raised $2160 with over 200 in attendance.

In the second year of its school adoption program, the brainchild of CHS seniors Bridget Dooley, Julie Anne Garretson, Elizabeth Johnstone and Allison Stolte, this now community-wide event is fast approaching $20,000 in monies raised.

"Fall Ball II" proved to be every bit as successful as the inaugural dance held last year. Once again, the students were able to get everything donated, which ensured all profits would go to Biloxi High School, still trying to rebuild after the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. Once again, the florists in town provided the centerpieces. Food was donated from organizations like "The Office" and "Emma's," as well as our own CHS Foods classes. The Knights of Columbus and The Russell Group provided monetary assistance and the Cranford Police donated their time.

Members of The High School University of Cranford, under the direction of Mr. John Arlotta: Elizabeth Johnstone, Allison Stolte, Bridget Dooley, Julie Anne Garretson, Sarah Bender, Hannah Brechka, Annie Zourzoukis, Melissa Russell, Alyssa Frediani and Ryan Zimmerman were joined by additional CHS students, Emily Gardner, Amanda DeMaio, Kelsey Fisher and Alexa Niro in helping to plan the event. Many more CHS students, staff and parents helped as well.

The next fund raiser for Biloxi High School is "Band Aid II" on December 1. This is a talent showcase for CHS students.
