How to Make Chocolate Modeling Clay
By Noah Lee B-)
This chocolate
acts like clay, only it is edible! You can make it into roses, just in time for
Mother’s Day.
You will need:
10 oz. of chocolate
⅓ of a cup of corn syrup
A microwave
A fridge
Your own hands
Some patience =-)
For the clay:
- Begin by
melting 10 ounces of chocolate in the microwave. Remember, chocolate burns
easily, so start off heating it for a minute and a half, then another 30
seconds, if needed.
- Mix the
melted chocolate with ⅓ of a cup of corn syrup. Stir them until the
chocolate is no longer shiny (the chocolate and corn syrup are now mixed).
- Refrigerate
the mixture for a couple of hours.
- Take the
mixture out of the fridge, and work it until it has the consistency of
modeling clay.
For the roses:
- Divide the
clay into ten pieces and roll them into balls, each about the size of a
marble.
- Flatten
each between your thumb and forefinger, making each about the size of, or
slightly bigger than, a quarter. Don’t worry if they aren’t all the exact
same size.
- Take the
smallest circle and form it into an up-side-down cone. Wrap the other
circles of clay around the cone, curling the tips of the petals outward.
- Pinch the
bottom to hold it all together.
- Present
with a card to Mom!
