Parent Workshops & Publications

Throughout the year there are numerous workshops and conferences that address special education students and their needs. The Department of Special Services believes that it is important to share information regarding these workshops and conferences with both parents and service providers who may benefit from attending. This page will serve to post upcoming conferences and workshops as the department is made aware of them.
Recently the Office of Special Services in cooperation with Orange Avenue School initiated a parent lending library. We are in the process of collecting materials for this library and will announce specific items added to the library through this page.

The Union County Chapter of CHADD is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults affected by Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD).

The chapter coordinator is Pamela Milazzo, of Westfield. The territory of the chapter, previously known as Western Union County CHADD, has now been expanded in an effort to re-structure the chapter into a more vital and active force serving the entire community of Union County.

The group ordinarily meets on the fourth Thursday of the month, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. (7:00-7:30 sign in), at Children's Specialized Hospital, 150 New Providence Road, in Mountainside. Meetings include both an educational program and an informal support group where in members will have time to network with one another.
