The Cranford Public Schools and Seton Hall University College of Education and Human
Services agree to the following terms:Both parties are committed to supporting and
pursuing accomplishment of the Mission Statement adopted by the Partnership Committee.
Both parties are committed to striving toward the NCATE Standards for Professional
Development Schools.
Both parties are committed to seeking to accomplish the activities stated in the
Program Activity Plan of the Goals 2000 Grant Project, according to the timeline stated
therein.
Both parties will provide representation from each of their constituencies to attend
monthly PDS Partnership Committee meetings.
The PDS Partnership Committee will be the central governing body of the Partnership.
The Partnership Committee will vote on any significant deviations from or revisions to the
Goals 2000 Grant Project, including individual expenditures over $1000 that differ from
the Grant budget.
Both parties are committed to participation in ongoing evaluation of the Partnership's
progress toward accomplishment of the Standards.
Seton Hall University and Cranford Public Schools will each provide a Professional
Development School Coordinator, to fulfill responsibilities stated in the Goals 2000 Grant
and developed by the Partnership Committee, and to receive financial compensation as
stated in the Goals 2000 Grant.
Seton Hall University will provide, and Cranford Public Schools will accept, a suitable
number of field placements of teacher candidates during each fall and spring semester of
the Professional Development School-- said number to be agreed to by the Partnership
Committee.
Upon the conclusion of the Goals 2000 Grant (January 31, 2002) Seton Hall University
and Cranford Public Schools will each continue to provide a Professional Development
School Coordinator (or its equivalent), who will continue to fulfill the same
responsibilities as those fulfilled during the Goals 2000 Grant. Seton Hall University and
Cranford Public Schools will each provide financial compensation to their PDS Coordinator
from February 1, 2002, through June 30, 2002, at the same levels as during the Goals 2000
Grant.
Both parties will seek local funding (through the institutional budgeting process) to
support the Professional Development School beyond June 30, 2002.
Both parties will, on an ongoing basis, seek supplemental funding to support the
Professional Development School beyond June 30, 2002.
Within the confines of financial limitations, continuation of the Professional
Development School after June 30, 2002, will be in keeping with the activities and
responsibilities described in this Agreement, unless modified by the Partnership Committee
after that date.
All policies and activities of the Professional Development School shall not violate
any policies or contractual stipulations of Seton Hall University, Cranford Public
Schools, or the representative organizations of their employees, nor shall they violate
any federal, state, or local laws or regulations.
