Seton Hall University - Cranford Public Schools
Professional Development School Partnership Agreement

The Cranford Public Schools and Seton Hall University College of Education and Human Services agree to the following terms:

Both parties are committed to supporting and pursuing accomplishment of the Mission Statement adopted by the Partnership Committee.

Both parties are committed to striving toward the NCATE Standards for Professional Development Schools.

Both parties are committed to seeking to accomplish the activities stated in the Program Activity Plan of the Goals 2000 Grant Project, according to the timeline stated therein.

Both parties will provide representation from each of their constituencies to attend monthly PDS Partnership Committee meetings.

The PDS Partnership Committee will be the central governing body of the Partnership. The Partnership Committee will vote on any significant deviations from or revisions to the Goals 2000 Grant Project, including individual expenditures over $1000 that differ from the Grant budget.

Both parties are committed to participation in ongoing evaluation of the Partnership's progress toward accomplishment of the Standards.

Seton Hall University and Cranford Public Schools will each provide a Professional Development School Coordinator, to fulfill responsibilities stated in the Goals 2000 Grant and developed by the Partnership Committee, and to receive financial compensation as stated in the Goals 2000 Grant.

Seton Hall University will provide, and Cranford Public Schools will accept, a suitable number of field placements of teacher candidates during each fall and spring semester of the Professional Development School-- said number to be agreed to by the Partnership Committee.

Upon the conclusion of the Goals 2000 Grant (January 31, 2002) Seton Hall University and Cranford Public Schools will each continue to provide a Professional Development School Coordinator (or its equivalent), who will continue to fulfill the same responsibilities as those fulfilled during the Goals 2000 Grant. Seton Hall University and Cranford Public Schools will each provide financial compensation to their PDS Coordinator from February 1, 2002, through June 30, 2002, at the same levels as during the Goals 2000 Grant.

Both parties will seek local funding (through the institutional budgeting process) to support the Professional Development School beyond June 30, 2002.

Both parties will, on an ongoing basis, seek supplemental funding to support the Professional Development School beyond June 30, 2002.

Within the confines of financial limitations, continuation of the Professional Development School after June 30, 2002, will be in keeping with the activities and responsibilities described in this Agreement, unless modified by the Partnership Committee after that date.

All policies and activities of the Professional Development School shall not violate any policies or contractual stipulations of Seton Hall University, Cranford Public Schools, or the representative organizations of their employees, nor shall they violate any federal, state, or local laws or regulations.
