The third marking period theme is Friends and Communities. The students will be involved in lessons requiring them to consider what it means to be a good friend.       February is an exciting month for Social Studies.  The children are learning their first American history lesson.  They are studying the lives of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington as well as investigating the contribution that African Americans have made to our culture.  Besides Black History Month, we are also celebrating Valentine's Day, Hundred's Day, and Chinese New Year.  We're hitting all the bases.      In keeping with the flu season, we are studying our arch enemies, germs, and how to eradicate them via good health habits.  In addition we are celebrating Dental Hygiene month and learning how to keep our teeth as healthy as our body.
