Walnut Avenue School students will enthusiastically launch the school's end of year theme "Save the Planet" by participating in a number of fun and educational activities. This central theme was designed to help raise student awareness of ecological issues. Parents will be asked to participate in our school wide celebration of Arbor/Earth Day by helping their child create a fashion accessory or piece of art work using recycled materials. Projects and recycled fashions will be enjoyed and shared by all students on Arbor Day.

Ecological and environmental responsibility as well as an understanding that the earth must be shared and respected continue to be taught via "The Children's Garden." Second  Grade children will attempt to integrate this garden theme with a study of the interdependence of plants and animals.
