  • Kid's Voting

    vote

In keeping with the upcoming election, the LAS students had the opportunity to cast their ballots on actual voting machines on Monday, November 13th. During this annual event, the students got a sense of what it means to cast a vote and wait for the results to be tallied. Once tallied, the results revealed that summer was the favorite season.

    walk

Mrs. Sickles, LAS Achieve Teacher, recently completed the Avon 39-mile walk in NYC. This event helps raise money for breast cancer research and financial aid for families affected by breast cancer. "39.3 miles was a long walk, but it was worth it," Mrs. Sickles reflected. "Thank you to the students and staff at LAS for your generous donations to the Avon 39: The Walk to End Breast Cancer! As a school, we raised close to $1,800 with our loose change drive this past May." Mrs. Sickles was happy to donate that money and even more to this great cause. She walked with her friend, Annie, and Annie's father in memory of Annie's late mother. The team of three raised over $11,000!

Thank you to the LAS community for their support of Mrs. Sickles!
