Grades 9-12 Philosophy and Department Overview
The Language Arts department offers a wide variety of courses that enrich students’ written and oral communication skills. Through the required English courses, students experience a curriculum rich in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and thinking. Teachers may personalize instruction to address the distinct learning needs, interests, aspirations, or cultural backgrounds of individual students. In short, the Cranford High School Language Arts department seeks to cultivate and nurture life-long critical reading and writing abilities in its students; galvanized with strong communication skills, students will be ready to meet any challenge.
The school yearbook, The Golden C, the online school newspaper, Cranford Dialogue, and the literary magazine, Prologue, are activities open to all students.
