Dear Brookside staff and parents,
It is with much pleasure that the Brookside Staff and I welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. We are eagerly anticipating a productive ten months full of learning, skill development, personal growth, new friendships, and plenty of fun. We certainly look forward to partnering with your family to make these goals a reality.
In order for the school year to begin smoothly there are many individuals to thank for their efforts in this process. The BPS custodial staff, Mr. Mike, Mr. Matt and Mr. Rob, teamed with other district custodians to create such a welcoming and clean environment for the opening of the 2019-2020 school year. The incredibly dedicated BPS staff has impressively followed up on the work of the custodians to set up their classrooms with inviting and interactive visuals that promote learning and growing on all levels and will support the kick off to a great year. Under the direction of Mr. Mario Cunha, Director of Buildings and Grounds, the outside of the building has been an area of focus for his entire crew. Finally, the partnership with the Cranford Police Department continues to grow with security remaining the top item on our priority list. To this end, considerable thanks are extended to Detective Sergeant Nazzaro and Juvenile Detectives Jones and Dubitsky for their assistance in ensuring all of the safety and security features in and around Brookside Place School have been upgraded and/or updated.
At Back to School Night, which will be held on Thursday, September 19, your child’s teacher will also inform you about their own resources and preferred methods of communication. This may include a classroom newsletter or the use of applications like Remind or Classroom Dojo. The two Principal Open Agenda meetings planned for 2019-2020 and the BPS PTA meetings are also great opportunities to learn more about our school community. The goal is always to provide you with the resources and information to help your child succeed and create a strong home to school connection.
In closing, I wish everyone a wonderful transition from the summer of 2019 to the start of the 2019-2020 school year. I look forward to welcoming all students and staff back very soon and beginning another engaging school year. Feel free to reach out by phone or email with any questions you may have.
