Dear Livingston Avenue School Community,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to this wonderful school community. I am extremely excited and grateful to be the new principal. I look forward to working with and getting to know all of you.
Let me start by providing you with some information about myself and my background. I currently live in Westfield, New Jersey with my wife Anna, who is an art teacher in East Brunswick, New Jersey. We have two daughters: Lucy our oldest is six and will be starting first grade this fall, and Quinn our three year old who will be starting preschool this school year.
I have been an Assistant Principal for six years. For my first three years I was an Assistant Principal in Queens, New York at Intermediate School Five. Since then I have been the Assistant Principal at Orange Avenue School in Cranford. Over the six years as a school administrator I have been able to work closely with staff, students, and parents/guardians on school initiatives, professional development, and community events. I believe that the role of the school administrator is to sustain the needs of students, staff, and parents/guardians. It is my goal to be available at all times to provide support to each individual in the school community.
As an administrator in this district I have heard how great this school is. I have had the opportunity to visit Livingston Avenue School on a few occasions and those statements were confirmed. I'm extremely excited to continue to make this school a great place.
Mr. Kevin Deacon
