Giving up one's time is considered one of the most selfless acts someone can do, and that's exactly what approximately 35 members of the H.A.S. family did this past Saturday. On October 27th, Mr. Fichter brought 6th graders, family members, and H.A.S. staff to residents of the Cranford Park adn Rehabilitation and HealthCare Center for a holiday-themed pumpkin painting social. With pumpkins donated by the local Trader Joe's in Westfield, students were able to work alongside the residents to get in the Halloween spirit! Students were able to show off their creativity, while also spending time having meaningful conversations with the residents. Activities coordinator from the center, Sophia Dumerand, has been very supportive of the relationship that has grown over the years between H.A.S. and her residents, and looks forward to hosting more socials in the future. Thank you to all of those who took the time out of their weekend to spend a little time with the members of our Cranford community, and be on the lookout for more opportunities in the coming months!
