May 3rd, Welcome Back!

Dear Parents / Guardians, Students, and Community Members,

I hope this letter finds you and your family well.  I am happy to share with you that the District can welcome back all students who choose to attend school in-person, 5 days a week, under the current schedule (no lunch / remote afternoons) starting on Monday, May 3.  The latest COVID-19 Activity Level Index (CALI) Weekly Report from the NJDOH indicates that our region has moved out of the HIGH-Risk transmission range and into the MODERATE-Risk transmission range.  As a result, and in accordance with the current CDC and NJDOH guidelines, students can attend school “with a minimum of 3 feet of physical distancing between students maintained in classrooms with strict adherence to mask-wearing.”

We are very excited to welcome those individuals who would like to attend school in-person 5 days a week under the aforementioned guidelines on Monday, May 3.

Your respective principal will be following up with a correspondence to provide you with more specific information and important reminders tomorrow.  Please note we will be arranging classrooms, in accordance with CDC and NJDOH guidelines, to accommodate students who would like to attend school in-person 5 days a week. If you have not already completed the most recent survey indicating that your child will be attending school in-person every day starting on May 3, please contact your building principal ASAP.

Please be reminded that we are simultaneously working towards our previously stated goal:  For all students to have the opportunity to safely attend school in-person, full-time, every day starting in September.  We will continue to provide you with periodic updates on our progress as well as opportunities for community input.

Thank you again for your patience, flexibility, partnership, and support!

Be well and stay safe!

Best,

Scott Rubin
