Board of Education Goals

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education adopt the following Board Goals for the 2025-2026 school year:

1. Continue to partner with the Cranford Township Committee to fairly earmark funds from PILOT payments (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) to help offset the increased cost of educating additional students stemming from residential developments that do not provide the benefit of increased tax revenue.  In addition, develop communication(s) to help educate and inform the community at large regarding PILOT payments and the Board’s ongoing partnership with the Township Committee.

2.   Develop a structured and documented approach for the use in mentoring of new Board of Education members during their first year of their first term.

3.   Enhance engagement with staff and faculty to foster stronger working relationships regarding District operations.
