What is the Writing Center?
The Cranford High School Writing Center, available to underclassmen like you, is designed to help improve your ability to use the writing process in developing academic compositions. Through a collaborative effort, trained peer tutors will work with you on specific areas such as analyzing content, organizing your ideas, and refining your writing mechanics. By using mentor texts and student samples, the tutors will help build your confidence as you craft clear, effective essays in all styles of writing.

Location: The Writing Center is in room L419

Hours: 7:30 - 8:00 AM, 11:00 - 11:50 AM, and 3:00 - 3:30 PM

What to Expect...
At the Writing Center, we’re here to help you tackle any challenges you may be facing in English. Our tutors are ready to support you at any stage of the writing process, while giving you the freedom to take control of your own work. Sessions are tutee-led, meaning you decide where to focus, and an experienced tutor will guide you through the process. Whether you need help brainstorming ideas, refining your thesis, improving grammar, or working on voice, structure, or content, we’ve got you covered. Our goal isn’t just to improve your paper—it’s to help you become a stronger writer overall.
