CHS Fine Arts

The Fine Arts department offers a comprehensive selection of courses for all students interested in the visual arts. These courses include options such as Drawing, Graphic Design, Photography, Art History. and three consecutive levels each of Crafts and Art. Additional advanced offerings include AP Studio Art and AP Art History.  All of these courses are designed to develop students’ creativity, problem solving skills, technical expertise, and aesthetic awareness and understanding. Through the study and exploration of traditional, historical, and contemporary art and craft techniques, students develop a personal understanding of the visual arts. Students have access to a wide range of mediums and equipment in studio settings, including computers and potter’s wheels allowing students to realize their personal goals in creating artwork.

Trip to the Guggenheim Museum

Mr. Rosenblum, Ms. Berk and Ms. Barkin facilitated a trip to the Guggenheim Museum on March 15th.  They saw the exhibit "Going Dark" which dealt with how marginalized people are often ignored and unseen.  This subject provoked  much conversation and interesting discussion.
